How often do you get close to nature to notice the details? All too often, we see nature without really seeing it. The great thing about macro photography is that the camera freezes detail that can then be enhanced and closely examined. Those wonderful details, like the eye of an insect, or the shimmery colors in its wings, would escape our attention without the aid of photography.
I have experience in both graphic and fine art and as you can see by these photos, photography is an art form that requires skill and imagination to express what the artist intends to the viewer. Whether it invokes awe, joy, sorrow, doubt, or even confusion, it is a powerful way to tell a story or communicate a message to the viewer. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words when it comes to expressing complex ideas.
